Westchester Instructor FIDE Master Leif Pressman has been a friend and competitor of National Master Evan Rabin since Leif Was 14 and Evan was 12. Along with Leif's late father Paul Pressman, they played over 50 rated games against each other at the Marshall Chess Club and elsewhere. He hails from White Plains and currently lives in nearby New Rochelle.
Some of Leif's playing career highlights include tying for second place in the 2019 Manhattan Open, tying for 4th place in the 10th Washington Chess Congress, among several grandmasters, winning clear 1st place in the 2016 Fairfield County Masters, placing ahead of our 118th Podcast Guest Grandmaster Max Dlugy, and tying fo 1st place in the 2013 Manhattan Open and tying for 1st place in the 2007 Foxwoods Open U-2200 section.
We are lucky to have him on the board to teach school programs and private lessons all over Westchester county; he has been teaching for 4+ years.
