Long Island Instructor National Expert Xilin Chen grew up in Brooklyn and has been playing tournaments since 2017 when he won first place in the 2017 Chess in the Schools Mark Levine Challenge JH-HS Novice section. Xilin's playing career highlights include winning first place in the 14th Annual Foxwoods Open U-2000 section, tying for first place in the 6th Ilan Kreitner Memorial, tying for second place in the 51st Annual Continental Open U-1800 section, tying for second place in the 10th Annual Boston Congress U-1900 section, and tying for 5th place in the 15th Annual Foxwoods Open, where he drew against National Master Evan Rabin.

Xilin has taught chess and math for several years and we are lucky to have him on board to teach private lessons and school programs throughout Long Island.
