Jeffrey Kunnel

Our Team

Philadelphia Instructor Jeffrey Kunnel was born and raised in the City of Brotherly Love, which hosts the World Open, one of the most prestigious annual tournaents, highlighted in Podcast Episode 197 with Grandmaster Joel Benjamin and Expert Harold Scott, authors of Winning the World Open. Some of his playing career highliughts include tying for 1st place U-1700 in the 2022 World Open, competing on the 6th place Team in the K-12 U-1600 section at the Supernationals VI in May 2017 and winning 3 Pennsylvania State Team Awards.

Jeffrey has been teaching in Philadelphia area for 5+ years and he has helped lead Temple University Chess club.
